  Hello Message Tree Friends!

This months tips are for:"HELPING YOUR LAWN MOWER LAST" and "NATURAL REPELLANTS"

Springtime means getting the the old lawn mower out and running again.

Oh, Boy! It will be no time before you'll be cutting the grass regularly. This month's handy tip will help you keep your mower in tip top shape as well as --- save you money! Before mowing you lawn, spray the underside of your mower with cooking spray to discourage clippings from sticking. A buildup of debris can prevent the mower from cutting properly and encourage rust. Hope this helps save time and money and happy mowing

There are many people these days that don't like using commercial pesticides and are always looking for solutions that are safer and more friendly to the environment. So try these;

Insect repellant...Mix a few drops of dishwashing liquid and a few drops of cooking oil in a gallon of water. This mixture will smother insects such as spider mites and aphids.

One tablespoon dishwashing liquid mixed with one gallon of water can be sprayed on dahlias, geraniums and hibiscus plants every two weeks to keep them fly-free....

Plant garlic near your roses to deter Japanese beetles.

If bugs around your garden are a problem, try planting basil and parsley with your vegetables to act as a natural repellant. Marigolds are also a natural repellant and can be planted around your gardens..

HOME MADE MOSQUITO REPELLENT :

Do you like sitting outdoors in summer, but those pesky mosquitoes drive you totally nuts? Here's a very simple and inexpensive solution that really works.

Get a white plate, put some water in it, and then add a couple of drops of LEMON Joy dishwashing soap. Then place the plate near where you'll be sitting outside. The mosquitoes will be attracted right to the plate, and will drop dead in the plate or nearby. How cheap and easy was that, and best of all no nasty chemicals!

Have a mosquito-free summer!
