Fragrant Ornaments

       These gingerbread characters make a great-and sweet smelling-gift or decoration! What You Will Need:

2 cups smooth applesauce

3 bottles (4.3 ounces each) ground cinnamon Thin ribbon

Gingerbread man/girl cookie cutter

Any small Candies for the Holidays of your choice

Decorative white icing

 

What To Do:

In a mixing bowl. combine the applesauce and cinnamon.

Slowly blend until all the cinnamon becomes moist.

Turn the mixture onto a work surface and knead until it becomes very smooth.

Roll the dough until 1/4 inch thick.

Press out gingerbread men and place them on a fine mesh rack or a lined cookie sheet.

Cut a small hole for ribbon in the top.

Air dry overnight Tie a loop with the ribbon through the hole.

Decorate the ornament with any Holiday candies of your choice ,attached with decorative frosting. Makes about 12 5-inch Ornaments.
